python-pyds9 software package provides Communication with the ds9 image display program, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-pyds9
python-pyds9 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-pyds9 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-pyds9 *
You will get with python-pyds9 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
